Well the last month has been a busy one here at the school with the pupils enjoying various experiences. Here is some of the story:

Cwmni teledu boom plant’s visit

Representatives from the television company came to the school to challenge a group of year 7 pupils to take part in several problem-solving activities.

The purpose of the visit was to find a group of children who would qualify for a place in a television series named “gwrach y rhibyn”.

We are very pleased to announce that our school has been successful and that recording will start soon. In addition to this, a small group of year 8 pupils had the opportunity to be involved in a zoom meeting with the producers of the boom company to have their say on what kind of digital channels are popular with young people.

They also had the opportunity to have their say on titles of new digital channels which are being developed by them.

Thanks to trystan and lia from @trac1124 for leading the activity. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and for their effort, each pupil received a well-being box.

Pc rhiannon wright visit

Year 9 pupils has sessions on keeping safe and the dangers that face them on social media by pc rhiannon wright. There was an interesting presentation and important and insightful questions asked.

Hen alawon newydd

Over the past few weeks year 7 pupils have been taking part in the “hen alawon newydd” project with the areas’ primary schools.

As part of this project, the pupils composed new words on old welsh tunes. Those new words needed to celebrate our precious area in llyn and eifionydd.

So, after composing new words with bard gruffudd eifion owen in january, year 7 pupils practiced singing the new song in their music lessons and during registration periods.

Then on the 23rd of march the pupils had the exciting experience of recording the new song.

We welcomed two former pupils, ceiri and sion to the school to help the pupils record. We look forward to hearing the finished product soon and hope to have an opportunity to share with you all the songs composed in different schools.
