Good bye

We wish glain thomas all the very best as she was leaving us at the end of the half term. She has been a welsh teacher here for 25 years and now moving on to a new venture. Good luck glain and thank you for your dedication, your proficiency as a teacher and your friendship throughout the years.

Visit from the bird man

At the beginning of february, islwyn jones (the bird man (pen y bryn falconry)) visited the school.

The cybi class and the outdoor learning classes had the opportunity to be a part of the workshop and had an unforgettable experience holding the birds of prey and watching them fly.

They also had the opportunity to question islwyn about the care he gives to the birds and were amazed at the things he could do with them.

As a school we are grateful for the support of the governments’ scheme – wales big ideas.

Recycling of clothing

The school continues to work with antur waunfawr by collecting clothes that are no longer needed.

The clothes recycle bin that was on the school site has now been re located to bron y de car park, and a second bin has placed there as well. Therefore, if you have clothes needing to be recycled, remember to take them over to the car park as you would be supporting antur waunfawr and the schools in the area.

Ysgol glan y môr and ysgol cymerau will be accepting a contribution from antur waunfawr for the clothes that are being placed in the bin.

Sbwroriel

Sbwriel a gallery of peace

Year 7 pupils diligently turned rubbish from plastic waste into unique and colourful flowers in a series of workshops led by ella louise jones, artist, and former school pupil. Sbwroriel is a project by arloesi gwynedd wledig that aims to generate interest and pride in our local area.

The flowers, made from old plastic bottles, will be displayed locally.

One of our pupils said,

“it was nice to create something colourful, interesting, from rubbish. I’m looking forward to see the flowers on display”.

Best wishes to the project as it develops further in our community
